Jennifer Mitchell

Hello! My name is Jennifer, and I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, licensed professional counselor, and Motherhood Mentor. I have been working with children and families in the public school setting for over 11 years and have extensive experience in special education, psychoeducational evaluations, and counseling in this setting, in addition to training in perinatal mental health. Beyond my professional experience, I am a mother of two young children, who are my greatest teachers. My journey into and through motherhood has brought me to depths and heights I never before knew. It has birthed a mother, as it always does. Over the past 7 years, I've developed a deep respect and reverence for this transitional period in a woman's life, called matrescence, and acutely understand the care, connection, and community that are necessary during this time. I believe that as mothers (parents) thrive, families thrive, but this vision takes community and real support. I firmly believe we are not meant to do this alone; we are meant to rise together in community. I am an advocate of natural wellness, living close to the earth, and the body's natural ability to heal. I am a continual student and love educating myself in areas such as physiological birth, attachment and conscious parenting philosophies, and alternative educational methodologies (i.e., nature school!). I believe in the healing power of "deep" self-care and attribute practices such as yoga, meditation, breathwork, intuitive movement, creative expression, therapy, and mentorship to my own healing and personal development. I can't wait to connect with you! www.roottorisemotherhood.com
